Update: Water Advisory November 6, 2024 – The City of Emporia continues to address the water quality issues that led to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Boil Water Advisory. Yesterday, City staff successfully located and repaired a mechanical issue and leak at the Water Treatment Plant that contributed to the advisory. Today, teams are working on further reducing turbidity levels and restoring the Ozonation system, which will help address the discoloration and odor currently present in the water supply. Once repairs are complete, water must filter through the entire system to flush out any affected water. At this time, the City anticipates that Friday would be the soonest the boil water advisory could be lifted, though this timeline remains dependent on achieving KDHE compliance standards.
