AR Home Connect
Now you can log on at home and monitor your child's progress in the Accelerated Reader program,
view books that your child has taken quizzes on, use Book Finder to search for books with AR quizzes, and enter your e-mail address if you'd like to recieve an e-mail when your child completes a quiz. Use your child's username and password to log on to Home Connect.
With our subscription to Accelerated Reader Enterprise, we have access to every AR test that has been written. There are many tests that are not intended for elementary students. So, please don't use it as a recommended reading list! AR Book Finder can help your child select a book that is appropriate for his/her age and reading level.
Our AR theme: "Book a Trip Around the World " |

How does Accelerated Reader work? For students, it's as easy as 1, 2, 3.
1 Select a book.
Students choose a book from our Accelerated Reader list. The books in the library and the classrooms are marked with a bright orange "AR" sticker.
2 Read the book.
Our AR books have a wide range of reading levels. From beginning to advanced readers, students can find books at their reading levels.
3 Take the test.
The student takes a computerized test which assesses comprehension of the book For each test passed, points are earned. The Accelerated Reader computer program keeps a record of the tests taken and the number of points earned by each student.
Here's how we use AR to motivate students:
This year's theme is Book a Trip Around the World. Our AR bulletin board is just outside the library. As students earn points they move their hot air balloons from continent to continent around the world. Those who make it to the Hall of Fame are honored to have their picture added to the Accelerated Reader Hall of Fame outside the library. Our PTO has donated some incentives to encourage the students. They will each receive a bookmark for every continent they travel to. The final prize is a very cool AR Hall of Fame water bottle.
