Neosho Rapids Elementary Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) Program

What is RIF?
What can RIF do for families?
Be A Part of RIF at Neosho Rapids Elementary!

"Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. prepares and motivates children to read by delivering free books and literacy resources to those children and families who need them most. Founded in 1966, RIF is the oldest and largest children's and family nonprofit literacy organization in the United States. RIF’s highest priority is reaching underserved children from birth to age 8."
RIF at Neosho Rapids Elementary serves students from Early Start through 8th Grade. Students receive at least 3 free books per year.

RIF helps families build home libraries for the opportunity to share the joy of reading with children. The RIF website also has many resources to help you motivate your child to read and activities to allow you to participate in your child's reading development.
The RIF website can be found at www.rif.org . Click on the "Parents" link.

NRE RIF always needs volunteers to assist with RIF. You can stamp books, prepare activities for use at giveaways, or supervise a giveaway.
If you can't volunteer but have an idea for a giveaway that you would like to share, please let Ms. Surmeier know. She can be reached by:
phone - (620)342-7783
email - rsurmeier@usd252.org
or just send a note with your son or daughter!
